FAST-DS 2026: Undisclosed Foreign Assets aur Foreign Income Declare Karne ka One-Time Chance

Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers Disclosure Scheme, 2026

Agar aapke paas foreign bank account, foreign shares, ESOPs/RSUs, foreign property ya koi aur foreign asset hai jo Income Tax Return mein properly disclose nahi hua hai, to FAST-DS 2026 aapke liye important ho sakta hai.

Government of India ne Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers Disclosure Scheme, 2026 (FAST-DS 2026) introduce kiya hai. Is scheme ka purpose eligible taxpayers ko ek one-time opportunity dena hai jisme woh certain undisclosed foreign assets aur foreign income ko declare karke apni tax position regularise kar sakte hain.

Sabse important baat — declaration ki last date 31 December 2026 hai.

FAST-DS 2026 kya hai?

Simple words mein, FAST-DS 2026 ek one-time disclosure opportunity hai.

Agar kisi taxpayer ke paas foreign asset ya foreign income hai jo applicable cases mein India mein disclose nahi hua, to prescribed conditions ke according usse declare karke specified tax/payment requirements complete ki ja sakti hain.

Scheme ka benefit lene ke baad eligible cases mein taxpayer ko specified provisions ke under tax, penalty aur prosecution se immunity mil sakti hai.

Lekin immunity automatic nahi hai. Eligibility, valuation, payment aur declaration ki saari conditions ko properly follow karna zaroori hai.

Kin taxpayers ke liye useful ho sakti hai?

FAST-DS 2026 specially un taxpayers ke liye relevant ho sakti hai jinke foreign assets ya income reporting mein purani mistake ya non-disclosure reh gaya ho.

For example:

  • Aapne kisi foreign company ke ESOPs/RSUs receive kiye the.

  • Aapka kisi foreign country mein old ya dormant bank account hai.

  • Aapne abroad job/study ke time savings banayi thi aur baad mein India return kar aaye.

  • Aapke paas foreign shares, securities ya investments hain.

  • Aapke paas foreign property hai.

  • Aapko foreign investment se interest, dividend ya other income mili thi.

  • Foreign asset India mein earned income se purchase kiya gaya tha, lekin ITR mein foreign asset schedule mein report nahi hua.

  • Foreign asset pehle se tax-paid income se bana tha, lekin uski reporting ITR mein miss ho gayi.

Kaunse Foreign Assets ya Income declare kiye ja sakte hain?

Scheme broadly kuch important situations ko cover karti hai:

1. Undisclosed Foreign Income

Aisi foreign income jo India mein taxable thi lekin applicable case mein ITR mein offer nahi ki gayi.

2. Undisclosed Foreign Assets

Aise foreign assets jo required disclosure ke according report nahi kiye gaye aur jinke source of investment ke regarding issue ho sakta hai.

3. Foreign Asset jo pehle se Taxed Income se bana tha

Ye category kaafi important hai.

Suppose aapne India mein salary/business income earn ki aur us income par tax bhi pay kiya. Us income se aapne foreign shares ya foreign bank investment kiya, lekin ITR mein foreign asset schedule mein us investment ko report karna bhool gaye.

Aise cases mein bhi FAST-DS 2026 ke provisions relevant ho sakte hain, subject to prescribed conditions.

₹1 Crore aur ₹5 Crore ki limit kya hai?

FAST-DS 2026 mein different categories ke liye different monetary limits prescribed hain.

Undisclosed Foreign Income / Foreign Assets

Certain eligible cases mein aggregate value ₹1 crore tak ho sakti hai.

Is category mein prescribed amount payable relevant amount ka 60% ho sakta hai, subject to the detailed provisions of the Scheme.

Already Taxed Income se acquired Foreign Assets

Agar foreign asset ka source aisi income hai jo India mein already tax ke liye offer ki ja chuki thi, to certain cases mein ₹5 crore tak ke aggregate foreign assets ke liye scheme ke provisions applicable ho sakte hain.

Aise cases mein prescribed fee ₹1 lakh hai, subject to the conditions of the Scheme.

Important: ₹1 crore aur ₹5 crore limits ko simply foreign asset ki current market value maan lena sahi nahi hoga. Asset ki valuation aur aggregation ke liye Government ne specific rules prescribe kiye hain.

FAST-DS 2026 ka sabse bada benefit kya hai?

Is scheme ka sabse important benefit specified immunity hai.

Agar taxpayer eligible hai, valid declaration karta hai aur scheme ki prescribed requirements — including payment — properly complete karta hai, to specified provisions ke under further tax, penalty aur prosecution se immunity mil sakti hai.

Lekin har foreign asset automatically immunity ke liye eligible nahi hai.

Isliye declaration file karne se pehle asset ki nature, source, acquisition year, residency status aur previous tax/ITR reporting ko properly check karna bahut important hai.

Declaration kaise file karni hai?

FAST-DS 2026 ke under declaration electronic mode mein prescribed forms ke through file ki jayegi.

Broadly process kuch is tarah hai:

Step 1: Apne foreign assets aur foreign income ki details identify karein.

Step 2: Check karein ki aap FAST-DS 2026 ke liye eligible hain ya nahi.

Step 3: Prescribed rules ke according asset/income ki value calculate karein.

Step 4: E-filing portal par Form 1 electronically file karein.

Step 5: Income Tax Authority ke determination ke according required amount pay karein.

Step 6: Prescribed Form 3 aur payment proof submit karein.

Step 7: Requirements complete hone ke baad prescribed certificate/certification issue ki jayegi.

Last Date: 31 December 2026

FAST-DS 2026 ek one-time aur time-bound opportunity hai.

Declaration file karne ki last date 31 December 2026 hai.

Isliye agar aapke paas koi old foreign bank account, foreign shares, ESOPs, RSUs, foreign property ya foreign income hai jiske disclosure ko lekar doubt hai, to last moment tak wait karna avoid karein.

Especially foreign shares aur investments ke case mein old transaction records, acquisition value, exchange rates aur previous ITRs check karne mein time lag sakta hai.

AIS mein Foreign Assets dikh rahe hain? Ignore mat karein

Aajkal Income Tax Department ko international information exchange ke through foreign financial information bhi receive ho sakti hai.

CRS aur FATCA jaise information-sharing mechanisms ke through foreign bank accounts, investments aur certain financial information India ke tax authorities tak pahunch sakti hai.

Isliye agar aapko AIS/Compliance Portal mein foreign asset ya foreign income related information dikhti hai, to use ignore nahi karna chahiye.

Lekin sirf AIS mein information dikhne ka matlab ye nahi hai ki taxpayer ko automatically FAST-DS declaration file karni hi padegi.

Pehle information ko actual bank/investment records aur previous ITRs ke saath reconcile karna zaroori hai.

Kin logon ko apna Foreign Asset status check karna chahiye?

Aapko professional review karwana chahiye agar:

  • Aapka foreign bank account hai.

  • Aapke paas foreign shares/ETFs/mutual funds hain.

  • Aapko foreign company se ESOPs/RSUs mile hain.

  • Aapke paas foreign property hai.

  • Aapke paas foreign insurance/pension investment hai.

  • Aapko foreign interest/dividend/salary/other income mili hai.

  • Aap pehle foreign country mein job ya study kar chuke hain.

  • Aap India wapas aa chuke hain aur old foreign investments abhi bhi hain.

  • Aapne foreign asset India mein already-taxed income se purchase kiya tha, lekin ITR mein disclose karna miss ho gaya.

  • Aapko AIS mein koi foreign financial information dikh rahi hai jiske baare mein aap sure nahi hain.

Don't Wait Until the Last Date

FAST-DS 2026 ek important one-time compliance opportunity hai.

Agar aapke paas undisclosed ya incorrectly reported foreign asset/income hai, to pehle ye determine karna zaroori hai ki:

Asset kya hai → Kab acquire hua → Kis income se acquire hua → Income par tax laga ya nahi → Previous ITR mein kya disclose hua → AIS mein kya information available hai → FAST-DS 2026 ke under eligibility hai ya nahi.

Proper analysis ke baad hi declaration file karna chahiye.
